the dream of a little girl

Every girl, at some stage of her life, sometimes when she's younger, and sometimes even when she's older, still has a dream. That dream for me was a ballerina. I've always enjoyed watching it. There is something magical about it. It's so delicate and feminine and makes my imagination run wild.

As a teenager, i did many dancing types including the likes of jazz and hip hop, but there is only so long you can do it (unless you're particularly good at it) and you see a future with it. I never did ballet though, for some reason i always though i was too old to do it. I didn't want to be that older girl in the class (although i have been that girl). So i plucked up the courage one time to try an adult ballet class. And boy was i surprised how difficult it was... Not that i thought it was going to be a breeze, but i suppose it reinforced why you start so young as a child...Anyway long story short, i did love it, but it was a challenge. For now and from time to time, i will live my child/teenage fantasy and obsession with ballet through everything else including point shoes and ballet slippers (which i still wear occasionally around the house).

I was amazed to find the Chloé criss-cross ballerina style flat (RRP $420)...I squealed when i saw them and could not resist trying them on! The buttery leather goodness, just adds to the design. The question is, the black of the nude? Even if i didn't wear them (and i would wear them of course), i could just look at them and cradle them, and i would be a happy girl.

What are your childhood fantasies?

going once, going twice, sold!

Snapped up a few bargains as seen below. Mid season sale has got to be the worst time to be saving...so much good stuff around! I try not to buy too much, but its hard being on holidays when my days consist of lazing around and dreaming (and sometimes acting on) the many purchases on my long long list...
Alas, i have two friend's birthdays to attend (the same night funnily enough...why does that always have to happen!) and i am planning on wearing this...Thoughts?

Outfit
Karen Walker white blouse
Topshop high waisted shorts
Jeffrey Campbell platform wedges
Karen Walker daisy necklace
Kit nail polish (My sportsgirl nail polish will do)
Giuseppe Zanotti clutch (I have an affinity for polka dots, but Mum's vintage bag is always a winner)

Will Davidson

I couldn't not resize just some of this AMAZING shoot by Will Davidson. They simply have to be viewed in all their glory, which means as large as possible.

If you look at the qualities of the different images from the shoot, there really isn't much detail to be seen, in saying that, the draping of the garment's only enhance and bring more depth to the photography.

Pure bliss. I could stare at these images for hours.

borrowed hat and stockings from sister, ellery et graz sunglasses, sportsgirl shorts and earrings, thifted/altered top, wittner sandals.

My bf and i decided we'd make a trip to the closer seaside, that was shorncliffe. It was rather scenic but very windy which made it kind of uncomfortably cold. Afterwards, we both had it in our minds that we'd drive to redcliffe but were both disappointed on how much it had to offer and how run down it looked. We then spent approximately 45 mins walking around looking for a fish and chip shop because there literally was no 'decent' shop -in my opinion- to be found. Eventually we had to go back to the dodgy looking one, because you know when you think about a certain food and you decide you want it and nothing else at this point...well all i wanted was fish and chips and nothing else!

These designs are particularly similar to those of my own, except Andy Warhol's 'Pop Art' is referenced and dress/t-shirts are used instead of swimwear apparel. I guess some of us have to be trendsetters for the scene? Just kidding, it was bound to happen. But i do think of it as a weird coincidence in terms of the timing -right after my porfolio- that Pop art, more specifically Andy Warhol's work would be screenprinted on some form of garments and then be highly priced attributed to it's uniqueness? I don't think so, not if it's already been done.
